Word equation convertor - Unable to load

N

Nick

As you might guess from the subject, I am trying to convert a word perfect
(either version 6 or 7 I think - *.wpd) document into word using Word 2003.
The text works perfectly, but none of the equations converted.

When I convert, it asks me if I want to convert the formulas (the whole
security BS and such). Once I start conversion I get an error that says
"Unable to load equation convertor. Continue with document conversion?" I
say yes and it only does the text. How can I get it to convert the formulas
too.

I tried looking online and downloading other programs and add-ons. Nothing
seems to work. Does anyone know how I can fix this or where to go to
download something that will?

(Sorry for the formatting of the quoted part below. It's late and I
didn't want to fix it. <G>)

Try this:

(If you don't have MathType, download and install the evaluation
version of it at the link in my signature.)

Open the document in WordPerfect. Save it as an RTF (i.e., "rich
text"). Open it in Word, and the equations should convert. I've had
some success with this in the past, but haven't tried it with Word
2003.

If you don't want to keep MathType after you're finished with the
conversion, just uninstall it.
