Word edited emails convert to plain text; html becomes attachment

Suddenly, my html MS Word created emails are converted to plain text when
sent and incoming emails with Word created HTML are converted to plain text
and the HTML portions are converted to attachments.
I have searched all over to see where there may be an option in tools which
might make this occur but can't find it. I am using Outlook 2003, XP
professional, and Norton Internet Security 2005.

tools, options, preferences, email options... read all mail in plain text?
