..prn files are plain text, so you shouldn't have any trouble opening them in
Word; but they may contain any amount of printer control code. This is
determined by the printer driver that created them, over which you have no
control. If you're using this as a technique for retrieving text, select a
different printer to print to file -- 'generic text printer' is best.

This isn't a conversion, it is a print file prepared using the printer
dialog. Save them as .doc files.

Dear Pam,
Had the same problem and it's been driving me up the wall for ages. None of
the other replies work but this one does...go to the command prompt or DOS
window (depends which operating system you are using). Click START...RUN and
type in CMD if you are using XP or 2000.

Let's say the file you want to print is called PAM.PRN is on your <D Drive>
in a folder called PRNFILES...

type D: and hit enter, then type CD\PRNFILES and hit enter...then type
print <filename> and enter eg

print pam.prn.

If your file name is not in 8.3 format for example pam gibson.prn, enclose
the file name in double quotes eg

print "pam gibson.prn"...I don't use this email address very often but if
your are stuck, email me on (e-mail address removed)
