Access a Word file saved in .prn format

T

Travisoma

I have a Word doc that I saved on the printer with the function Print to
File. The file extention is .prn. Now I want to reopen it in Word and it
won't open. How do I deal with this problem?

Thanks -

A .prn file is a capture of the data being sent to the printer, not
generally an editable document. As it says in
http://filext.com/faq/print_from_prn_file.php, "You can open a .PRN file in
any text editor but what you'll likely see is your text surrounded by a
whole bunch of "junk" which represents all the various printer codes
necessary to set margins, special spacing, graphics, etc."
