When printing a Contacts view in Outlook by category the Print dialogue box
gives the optiion to save to a file but only to a .prn file. However, this
..prn file does not display convert export or print correctly in any of the
Office products or any other applications I have which makes it useless
(non-transportable, non-shareable)?

Drop the prn file onto your printer.
The easiest way to transport a category is to create a new pst file and copy
the contacts to it.

I did a drag and drop of the .prn file to a shortcut to my printer that is on
my desktop and got the following message: "This file cannot be printed.
Please try opening the file with the correct application and printing from
there" I do not understand why Outlook gives the option to save to a .prn
file if the file is basically useless to most Users? I haven't createded any
other .pst's yet but I think I might be able to figure out how to copy to
another .pst file and do whatever I want from there. Thanks for that
suggestion.
