word document shows up in other language

When I attempt to open up my old document it opens up in the wrong language

What exactly do you mean by "opens up in the wrong
language"? Is the document in (say) French when it's
supposed to be in (say) English? (Unlikely.) Or is Word
incorrectly identifying the language that the document is
in?

Same thing happened to me. Opened a doc yesterday and the text is in Greek!
Header and footer are in English. When I try to retype I get Greek. I have no
idea how it happened or how to change it! Tried setting the language to
English, but to no avail.

More than likely not really Greek, just Greek characters, possibly from the
Symbol font.
