Making particular language the default

I have two languages on my word. At the moment English is the default
language and all the documents open that way. How can I change it so that the
other language is the default?

The default language for Word is the default input language set in Windows
Regional settings, however language is a formatting parameter and simply
changing the input language will not affect existing documents. For those
you must apply the required language to the content.
