How do I keep a name together in a line without it being split at the end?
i.e. Mary Thompson
I want to keep the whole name on the same line.

Use the non-breaking space. For most fonts, enter it in MSWord as
alt+0160 (with the numbers typed on the numeric keypad).

- Character
 
Ctrl+Shift+Space will also work.
