Word 2007 Normal Template default languae

The normal template always defaults to US English. I have tried *everything*
to set it to Australian English but nothing works. What great secret am I
missing?

What language do you have set as the default under the Control
Panel>Regional and Language Settings?

David,

The solution is obvious! Move to the US and raise the collective IQs of both
countries in the process! (says the ex-pat American living in NZ ;-D)

Actually, the solution is a combination of setting the default language in
Word, which you have done, and setting a couple of options in Windows. Since
didn't say which version of Windows you're running, I'll try to provide
general information that will guide you for your particular configuration.

The settings you need to have a look at are related to the Regional and
Language options. Change pretty much everything you can find - formats,
location, language and keyboards - to English (Australian) and you should be
right mate.
