Word 2007-Compatibility Checker not coming on

Hi - has anybody encountered the issue that when saving a 2007 docx to a 2003
doc, the compatibility checker does not come up? The 2003 doc is in
"compatibility mode" once saving is complete. Just the compatibility checker
doesn't automatically come up like it is supposed to (though the box is
checked to do so). Has anybody encountered this and found a fix? Thanks!

You will only see a message if the document is making use of features not
supported in Word 97-2003.
