I've just recently installed MS Office 2007. I need to save a file as a PDF.
I downloaded the PDF plugin, but the SAVE AS dialog doesn't include PDF
format in the file-type drop-down. I even restarted Word, to no avail. I was
Administrator when I did the install. The installer indicated that it
completed successfully.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks!

I don't have it in front of me but I think it's under Publish, not Save As.

Evidently not. Thanks though...

Do you have any PDF commands showing when you click Prepare? If the add-in
isn't installed then there should be a link that will take you to the
download.

"Prepare?" Prepare what? That isn't in the SAVE AS dialog, and the
instructions for saveing as a PDF indicate that the SAVE AS dialog is the way
to do it. I'm confused.

As I said in my initial post, I downloaded the installer, saved it to my PC
and executed it. I was informed via the dialog that the installation had
completed successfully. However, no PDF options appear in either the PREPARE
or the SAVE AS dialog, anywhere. Even after a restart of Word.

I have the same problem. I did notice that there are now options to Email as
PDF or Email as XPS under the Send menu, but there is no similar "print to
PDF" option under the Prepare menu.

Sorry about that, wrong place (I still had Tony's reply in my mind and typed
the wrong thing.)

Click the Microsoft Office Button, then point to Save As (don't click the
button). On the Save As menu (not the dialog box) do you see anything for
PDF? If the add-in isn't installed then there should be a link for the
download. So if you see the link then Word isn't recognizing the add-in you
installed - you might try again using the link instead.

That did it! Thank you. Seems that I was using Firefox to attempt the
download, and (of course) Micrsoft doesn't like that very much. When I used
IE, I got the correct file and it installed perfectly.

Again, many thanks!!

You're welcome. :-)

It may not have been the right add-in previously, but I'm glad to hear you
have the issue resolved. (Again, sorry directing you to the wrong place
before!)

Also, now that the functionality has been installed you'll find PDF as a
file type in the Save As dialog box.
