Word 2003 Start Up

I had a virus in my computer and was able to clean it up and everything is
back to normal with the exception of Word 2003 now takes 10 minutes to open.
The first couple of time I tried it I though it wasn't opening at all, did a
end task to get out, and the next time I tried to open it would ask if I
wanted to use safe mode. If I do that it opens immediately. I have downloaded
all the service packs and updates I could find but still have the problem. I
am no computer wiz, so I don't know what to do next. Can anyone help me or
am I do I need to take my computer to a professional?
