word 2003 not responding message

Hello. Every other day or so, without apparent cause, while working on a
Word 2003 document, the program hangs up. When I click control-alt-delete,
the message box states that the document is not responding. This is a newly
installed program on a new computer using Windows XP with Office service pack
1 installed. Very discouraging. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also check that you have the latest versions of your display and printer
drivers.
