Word 2002

My new laptop has Vista with a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007. I have
no use for anything in this suite except Word. Once the 60 day trial is
over, I'd love to be able to keep Word but that's not possible unless I
purchase it - right now I cannot afford that. I do have Microsoft Office XP
Small Business that also includes Word, which I used on my old computer.

Before I attempt it - is is possible to load the XP version and use that
version of Word on this computer once the trial version is expired?

Thanks in advance for the help!!

MS might detect that you're using the same XP installation on two different
computers and throw up a red flag.
But other than that, Office XP should work on Vista. You may need to install
some updates though.

Office XP works OK with Vista, except for a prob with Outlook. In Office XP
running on Vista, Outlook forgets the email passwords.

If you only want Word, do a Custom install from the Office Disk.
