Trial version hasn't converted with license

My new HP Pavilion notebook came with a 60-day trial version of Office
Enterprise 2007. I bought a license through my university, installed
the disks, ran the setup wizard and entered the product key. But when
I open Word, it still says "Microsoft Word non-commercial use (Trial)"
across the top of the window! Why? I've looked for a separate,
licensed installation of Office, but can't find anything.

You need to UNINSTALL the trial version first. Uninstall both, then
re-install the paid-for version after re-booting.

You should have uninstalled the trial before installing the real McCoy.
Now you need to uninstall both and reinstall the real McCoy.

Damn, I am surprised that you didn't try to shove that inferior OpenSores
Office down his throat.

Why should I? The OP wants to use Office 07, not Open Office. I use
Office 2003 all the time. Ya see, I don't limit myself to just one
operating system. I use XP for some things and Ubuntu for others. Why
shouldn't I have the best of both worlds if I can get it?

You should use both products if you want to. Never said you shouldn't. But
trying to get people here in vista land to migrate is just insulting.

This is your opinion. Most don't share it. A lot of people are tired of
having to jump through the WPA and WGA hoops and the tendency of Windows
to crash whenever anything goes wrong. A lot of people are tired of
spending hours trying to clean their computers of malware infections and
never knowing if they're really gone or not. The fact that you don't
like Ubuntu doesn't mean that others won't like it either. Why do you
think Ballmer is so worried about Linux? As much as his public dancing
is pretty weird, I think the man knows something about the computer
business, don't you?

I agree that Ballmer knows quite a bit about the computer business and agree
that he is worried about Linux. Hell, the man worries about every product
that competes with Microsoft.

If someone comes here and is totally frustrated with Vista, they want to go
back to XP. They don't want to deal with Ubuntu. They probably have MS
software that they don't want to throw away.

Maybe when I retire and have no need to use Microsoft products I just might
consider Ubuntu or other Linux solution but for now, I need Microsoft.

You only speak for yourself. The sooner you realize that, the better off

That is a fact. Accept it troll.

Most don't share it.

Liar! Most do accept it. You need to accept it troll.

A lot of people are tired of
having to jump through the WPA and WGA hoops and the tendency of Windows
to crash whenever anything goes wrong.

What a load crap! Most people activate once and that's it.

A lot of people are tired of
spending hours trying to clean their computers of malware infections and
never knowing if they're really gone or not.

Bullshit! Not with Vista.

The fact that you don't
like Ubuntu doesn't mean that others won't like it either.

Most don't as the numbers speak for themselves.

Why do you
think Ballmer is so worried about Linux?

He's a business man and business is war. You just don't understand or
comprehend that fact do you.

As much as his public dancing
is pretty weird, I think the man knows something about the computer
business, don't you?

He knows about business. He knows business is war!

Sorry. I don't get my panties all in a bunch over your posts. I was talking
about the hundreds of others telling you the same thing. You are not wanted
here.

If you don't like my posts, don't read and don't respond but you just can't

A lie. Not even five have asked me to leave and you, Frank, Spanky and
Mr Arnold (and his multiple nyms) are all of the people who have asked
me to leave and you all are trolls who I don't obey.

I can help it and I reply when the mood strikes me.
