When I go to certain websites in IExplorer, the Microsoft Word 2000
installation process begins. I don't have any clue as to why and it's pretty
annoying because I have to hit cancel each time it happens. Does anyone know
why this might happen and how to stop it?

During a normal install of Office, many items are tagged for install upon
first call to usage. In other words, if you don't particularly need that
function it will never be installed. If you, or another program, needs to
access the function, you will get a popup to install it.

The way around this is to perform a "complete" install of Office. Everything
is there, whether you need it or not.
