Word 2000 start sound%3f

How do I stop the sound when Word starts (Opens).
Terrible noise!

I'm not aware that this action is associated with any sound, but if it is
you can change or delete the .wav associated with it. Start | Settings |
Control Panel | Sounds and Multimedia.

There is no .wav associated with word 2000 in the "Sounds" under "Sounds and
Audio Devices" in the Control Panel. Looked at this several times but no
luck.
 
I wonder if the sound could be associated with the loading of some add-in.
