Word 2000 - Headers That Take Up The Whole Page

I am having the same problem as has been mentioned in previous posts. I have
a Word document that consists of several tables and at the end of the
document I have 20 blank pages.
When I click on the show/hide icon - there are no paragraph marks - nothing
to delete.
The only thing I can think of is the headers for these pages stretch all the
way down to the bottom of the page and meet with the top of the footer.
These headers are all set to same as previous (despite the previous ones
being normal size).
I have been into File/Page Setup/Layout and tried each type of vertical
alignment and none of it makes any difference!
I would be grateful if anyone could help me!

Headers can "expand" in sections where the Vertical Alignment is set
to "Centered", but I don't see how that could add pages. Are you sure
that you have looked at all the possibilities covered in the article

Hello

Thanks for that - but I seem to have solved my own problem!
It wasn't actually connected to headers at all!
The reason my tables were splitting and giving me lots of blank pages was
due to the wrapping of the table itself.

If anyone else is having this problem (i.e. they have a table which is
several tables long and they have blank pages that they cannot click in/make
the cursor appear in) highlight the entite table, right click, select table
properties and make sure the alignment is set to left and the wrapping is set
to none.
If somehow your table has split itself into several sections (which is what
had happened to me) then you will need to do this for each section.

Hopefully it will solve your problem.

My other tip is NOT TO LET ANYONE ELSE FIDDLE WITH YOUR TABLES! That will
stop this sort of thing happening in the first place!
