Word '03 Save dialog: folders not alphabetical

I just noticed that Word is not alphabetizing the folders under
My Docs. I then opened My Docs in Windows Explorer, and they were
alphabetized. I don't see any way to correct this very confusing
situation.

Click the Name heading in the Open dialog box to sort by that column.
 
I would love to, but while the Open dialog box has column
headers, the Save one does not! Can you figure that out?

A ha! I can, however, sort while in the Open dialog and it
affects subsequent Save dialogs. What a deficient arrangement.

In the Save As dialog box, you should see the columns and their headings if
you choose to display folder contents in Details view.
 
Just so. But no credit to MS, the reason for that distinction
completely escapes me.

Unless you choose Details view, there are no columns to display.
