Word 03 prints single envelopes in red ink only

I have a Dell 720 printer. In Word 2003, a single envelope's addresses are
only printed in red ink. I have made changes and the preview pane shows the
black ink that I want, but it still prints in red. What can I do?

Your printer is probably one of those that create black by mixing the colors
and you are probably out of one of the colors, Change the color of the font
formatting in the Envelope Address style, or in the printer properties, set
it to print in black and white, not colour.

This is not the case. I am a part time computer technician and I am having
the same problem with a clients computer. It cant be the ink because once
you change the page to a letter format, it is able to print black. What is
really strange is that even though it is black on the screen it prints out
red on the envelope.I have no idea what this problem is but I am going to
research the we....hope theres someone out there who already had the problem
and was able to fix it. Wutever it is, it has to do with changing the page
setup.

For whatever reason, some inkjet printers print envelopes and other small
paper sizes using composite black (made up of the colors in the color ink
cartridge) rather than true black (from the black cartridge), so when the
color cartridge is low on ink of one color or another, the envelopes may
come out red or blue or green while letters are still black.
