Won't send email

Outlook Express won't send my email MOST of the time. Occasionally it will
send it but most of the time it just goes to my out box and just sits there.
Eventually, it goes but sometimes it's hours later or even the next day. I
had Norton but got rid of it (with their uninstall tool) and now have AVG.
The error messages I get vary but usually say something about not being able
to connect with the server or the server unexpectedly terminating the
connection.

Please double-check the name of your email client.
Outlook Express cannot be used in Vista. If you meant Windows Mail,
did you install AVG antivirus using the 'custom' install option?
If not, uninstall, then reinstall, select custom install, which then gives you the
option to not have the email scanning module installed. AVG's email
scanning module causes problems with Windows Mail.

You were right, I have Windows Mail. I turned off my AVG email scanning and
it seems to be working. Thank you.

Does your connection to that server cross over from one internet provider's
equipment to another's before it reaches the server, as it often does if
you're
using anyone's wireless server other than your own? If it does, such
connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for spammers.
If this is the case, ask your email provider if your connection for outgoing
mail can use any port other than port 25. Just trying all the ports is a
very
slow way to find out - there are about 65,000 ports available.

That's because you are using Sky.com as your ISP. As a general rule you
must use the SMTP server that belongs to your Internet provider.
