Cannot send or receive email

When I try to send or receive email I get this error:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'Charter', Server: 'pop.charter.net', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I use Norton Antivirus and the email scanning is turned off.

The error message you submitted only pertains to receiving, so I'll
address that part.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option.

If you get a separate send error, please post it.
