Wont get mail????

I have what I thought was a profile. But when go to get
mail or connect to nothing is in the there to choose. What
am I doing wrong.. Now if I have to remove and reload will
it get rid of all of my word files and the other files I
have made??

What version of Outlook? How did you set up this profile? Please be as
detailed as possible.
