Won't boot from original XP

My system refuses to boot from XP Home Ed. w/ SP-2. I
installed a second XP and can now see all of the original
files but cannot run programs or access personal files.
Please let me know how to get original version to boot.

Either you're going to have to reinstall all of your programs on the new
installation, or fix the old one.
