.WMVs as Text files

I recently formatted my pc and reinstalled everything because my pc was
running so slow because of junk. Now i have its running crisp and sweet but i
have one problem when i click/save as.. a link with a WMV file attatched it
opens or downloads as a text document, can anyone help or tell me why this is
happening? cheers,

not sure but try this:
empty IE cache folder,then in IE go tools/options/general tab, click
settings in Temporary internet files and reduce the temp internet
folders space to 128mb

If that doesn't help
control panel/folder options/file types.
Scroll down until you find WMV.
What does it open with?

It is because of SP2 which disables file download based on their content
flag in Internet Explorer options...
