WMV to AVI or MPEG converter

Hello,

I have downloaded some music videos I'd like to watch in my DVD player.
So I want to make Video-CD.

But the videos are in WMV (Windows Media Video) format, so I want to
convert to AVI or MPEG.

Any good freeware to do this?

If you can find an copy of VirtualDub 1.3c, it's supposed to do this.
Later versions were crippled from doing it because MS issued them a
"Cease and Desist" order or something.

TMPGEnc will do this.

Make sure you tell TMPGEnc to show all files. To convert to avi, close the
wizard, load the file to be converted then File-->output to file-->avi
file. Mpeg can be done using drag and drop through the wizard.
