wmv burn

I think I may have a dumb question here, but....
I have successfully converted my powerpoint slideshow to a wmv file. I can
play it on the media player. When I inserted a DVD disc and burned it,
everything worked fine. I can put that disc in and watch it on my computer.
However, when I try to play it on my TV's DVD player it says "cannot read
disc". Was I supposed to do a second conversion from wmv to DVD or is it
ready to burn as is??? Or is it that some DVD players can't recognize all
DVDs?

You can't play WMV files on a DVD player -- they need to burnt as movie DVDs,
not computer DVDs.

In most instances, the DVD burning app that came with your DVD burner will
have an option that allows you to take a movie file and then burns it to a
DVD that can be played on a DVD player. Again, not all DVD burning apps will
support WMV as an input format -- so that's one more thing you need to make
sure of.
