The PowerPoint Viewer is a free download and you can burn it onto a CD. Use the "package
for presentation" feature to get all the external sound, video, and other clips embedded
in it.

PowerPoint does not have a native feature to do that - but third party
applications can do that. Not all of them do it too well - and you'll
need a Powerful computer to get better results - luckily many of them
have trial versions and you can check if they work for you.

Some aspects you need to pay attention to:
1. You can not burn PowerPoint to DVD directly with out third party
software, because PowerPoint is not MPEG-2 Video formats which you can
burn to disc directly with common burning software like Easy Media
Creator, Power2Go and so on. you need certain software to convert your
PowerPoint to MPEG-2 or that software has the function of burning
PowerPoint to DVD directly

2. Burn PowerPoint to DVD or disc. Commonly, there are two steps,
first convert PowerPoint to a certain video format such as MPEG-2,
then burn the video to disc. (Here you can use these common burning
software like Roxio Creator)
And there are some software can do this at a time

3. Put the music and the PowerPoint in the same folder, in a word,
everything in the same folder to make sure you burn PowerPoint to DVD
with animations, transitions and audio track retained.

The only way to do this is to get specific PowerPoint to DVD software.
The best I've found is this one:
http://www.ppt-to-video.com/powerpoint-to-dvd-overview.html

this was is $79.95 and is one of the few products that didn't mess up
animations, transitions and music.

The other option is to use Windows Movie Maker but you would have to
start from scratch and insert all the pictures onto it. I believe
Windows XP and Windows Vista came with this free software so you
probably have it. You click on Import Media and select the pictures
you want (press Ctrl to select individual pictures). You can then use
the Auto Movie button to add credits, music and transitions to your
movie. Then burn it to DVD.

Hope this is helpful.

Have a look here:

Convert presentations to VHS or DVD video

Then duck. You're about to be deluged with answers from various vendors who
have products that purport to do this sort of thing. Some may be perfectly
fine; don't spend any money until you've tried a demo and are satisfied that
it'll work well for you, 'kay?

Don't lie to advertise your products!

You can burn a presentation to CD and with the viewer show it on any other
computer - for free!

You can save your presentation as JPGS and play the slides as a photoshow in
a DVD player - for free!

Dear Simon (MVP),
What you mentioned above is quite right and great,
But how about DVD menus? if you want to play your PowerPoint on TV
with a DVD player,
It's good to have Powerful DVD menu functions so that you can control
your presentation with a DVD remote control. And Acoolsoft PPT2DVD can
do this perfectly, if you know it well.
Yea, I know there are many free ways to do this, such as windows movie
maker or PowerPoint viewer.
Different way means different results.
I didn't force any one to purchase this product. they sell those to
someone who really need it, and try before buy!!
Then why lie to advertise these products?
BTY, Acoolsoft will release its new version of PPT2DVD with more
powerful menu settings and new user interface recently.
Hope you can give some advices! Thank you!
