WMP

I double click on an mpg/mp3/avi/wmv etc etc and nothing happens!
The icon is WMP and the association too but nothing happens!
No application/process in task manager.
I can dbl-click to my hearts content - no WMP, no resources used.
I can right click and choose open with WinAmp and it starts fine.
What gives?
This behaviour started after I d/l and installed a codec pack (from MS for
XP)

XP Pro SP2

In Tools/Folder Options/File Types - what is listed for each of these
extensions under Advanced/Edit?
