wmp 10, will not open .wmv files on the web automatically

hi, i'm a total novice so forgive any ignorance. I'm trying to play videos
(.wmv) from a website that I have been using for several months. Today, out
of nowhere and without changing anything on my computer, the videos no longer
play automatically. I have to click on the link and have it open in another
tab so I can see the web address. then I have to change the mms: to http:
and then it plays just fine. How can I get my computer to once again play
these files automatically? thanks. wmp10, on windows xp. thanks.

Open Windows Media Player.... Tools, Options, Network.... Check what MMS is
set to the the box.... If none try Browser or AutoDetect
