WMM Won't let me save a Movie file

Justin

When I try to save the movie file as High Quality Video (NTSC) or
2.1Mbps video (NTSC) it says it can't save.
Here's a screen shot

But when I save using DV-AVI (NTSC) it works fine.
What the hell happened to my Movie Maker?
The other problem of not being able to import DV files is somehow solved.

Yes, all files are available.
I have 100GB left on the drive.
So for now I guess I'll save at DV and use Media Encoder to render to WMV.

OK, scratch that.

I think I have the problem solved.
I downloaded and installed the XP codec pack from freecodecs.com
Once that was done I seem to be able to save again.
The file I was having a problem with is from a Panasonic S7 camcorder.

Justin, I am also trying to find the answer. I get the same message (in your
screen shot) Did you find an answer? I've spent all day on this.

If you can save as DV-AVI but not as .wmv...you
may have an issue with your QASF.DLL file...the
following article has some references to it.
