WMM 2 Crashes under XP Home

I've just begun trying to use Movie Maker 2 on my XP home
machine (Athlon 2200+, 512 RAM). Each time I attempt to
make a title, add an effect, whatever -the program
crashes instantly generating no error screen. It just
shuts off.
Any ideas what I can do?
