WMF picture not printing

P

Paula

I need to put an address list from Word into PowerPoint in
a foramt that means people can't edit it.

I have copied the text in Word and pasted as a picture in
PowerPoint. Then saved the slide as a WMF and then
inserted it into the background of a slide in PowerPoint
by going format background, picture and selecting the wmf.

It looks great on screen (very clear) but for some reason
just keeps printing out a blank page.

Any ideas on why it's not printing?

Or any ideas on an alternative way of doing this. It needs
to be PPT compatable picture and I want to protect the
slide from people altering teh text.

Thanks

What if you stop right there?
If you ungroup the newly pasted picture, can you edit it?
If so, try pasting as PNG or bitmap. That won't be editable.

B/W printer, right? Choose File, Print and remove the check next to black and
white. When you print in b/w, PPT leaves out backgrounds and makes a few other
adjustments.

I have printed it as pure black and white and as
greyscale. Only when I have neither ticked does the text
print out, and although it looks great on screen even at
400% it prints with a pretty bad resolution. Why is that?

I can paste the picture as a giff or PNG but they have
even worse resolution.

All of these options can be ungrouped into text boxes - I
was hoping for something a bit more secure.

Any more ideas?

You mentioned that you were bringing these in as the background image?
I wouldn't do that.
Instead, bring the image in as a regular image and if need be, send it to the
back.

See if the above helps. If not, format the text in Word so it's quite large,
then copy and paste as picture. See if that helps.

That's why I suggested PNG. It can't be ungrouped.
