WLMD - Accessing GMail Settings

Guest

It's been mentioned that with WLMD you can access various web based
(POP/IMAP) email accounts. However no matter how hard I try I just can't
configure the program to access my GMail accounts. I've checked and double
checked the settings against those stated in the GMail help pages, but still
no joy. I have set up MS Outlook 2007 to receive them and it works perfectly.
Why will WLMD not retrieve them?

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know exactly what the settings
should be?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Dear Dan,

I can successfully retrieve the email from GMail. After install the WLMD, it
will import all the account settings from my OLE and I can access my GMail
account with that settings.

Perhaps you can check against the following:-
Server-
POP3: pop.gmail.com
SMTP: smtp.gmail.com
Check "My server requires authentication"
Inside the authentication setting, select "Use same settings as my incoming
mail server"

Advanced-
SMTP Port:25, check "This server requires a secure connection
POP3: 995, also check "This server requires a secure connection

Hope this can help

Regards,

Alex

Thanks for the reply. I have tried pop.gmail.com/pop.googlemail.com (and the
same for SMTP) with POP3 Port: 995 & 465. Still no luck!

The connection to the server has failed. Account: '(e-mail address removed)',
Server: 'pop.googlemail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Dan try this,
Incoming Mail: POP3: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail: SMTP: smtp.gmail.com
Incoming Mail Sever: blah blah @ gmail.com
Password: blah blah
Check remember password.
Under Outgoing Mail Server check "My Server Requires Authentication, then
click settings button check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
then click ok. Now click the advanced tab...Outgoing SMTP should be set @ 25
and check the ssl setting , Incoming POP3 should be set @ 995, again check
ssl connection required.
Now make sure you have enabled POP3 on your gmail account, because by
default it is disabled
I was unable to use the 995 465 configuration google says to use.....
