Gmail IMAP & error message (or not)

Hi I don't know if anyone has encountered the following.
Using Windows Live Mail under Vista HP SP2, I can send & receive mail for my
Gmail account without any problems except when it does it's periodic send &
receive the synch process stops saying that there is an error - but in the
column where an error message would be there is nothing, making it
impossible to see what could be going wrong.
I also use WLM to synch with my Hotmail account which is not IMAP & with
another IMAP account provide by my ISP which is actually a Google service
using Gmail! That receives no errors.
I have made comparisons with the two Google services & can't see what the
issue might be.
This, like so many things in IT, is irritating rather than show stopping,
but it would be nice to get to the bottom of it. WLM can then be my only
mail client & be even more useful.
TIA.

Wrong newsgroup, for WLM use microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop on
this server.

Try Right-click on the [Gmail] folder, select Synchronization Settings>Don't
Synchronize.
HTH?
