Gmail syncing problems

If anyone can help would appreciate it - working on this a couple days now.
I think I have set up my gmail in Windows Mail correctly except I have been
getting the following message when I send and receive to ensure all folders
are up to date.

Header download for the '[Gmail]' folder did not complete. Could not select
'[Gmail]' on the IMAP server. You might try refreshing your folder list to
synchronize with the IMAP server. Account: 'imap.gmail.com', Server:
'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Unknown Mailbox: [Gmail]
(Failure)', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2

Does this mean I am not receiving those items in my inbox? How can I fix
this problem. Any suggestions for resolution this problem are much
appreciated.

I think I've read that Windows Mail tend to have problems with IMAP folders
that have certain characters in their names, such as [ and ].

You may need to access that folder through a webmail connection, and check
if there's anything in it that Windows Mail failed to download.

Also check your email account under Windows Mail, because I'm not sure
I've seen a setup that used that port number before.

According to this page:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77696 port 993 is
correct.
