wkdetect.exe in msconfig startup?

I am so tired of every time I use Microsoft Word, it automatically then
places "wkdetect.exe" in my MsConfig startup file. I can go and delete it
from my Registry settings, but the next time I open Word, it rewrites itself
in my registry and my Msconfig. Does anyone know how to tell Word to 'STOP
IT, DAMMIT!"
Thanks ... Michael Mauzey ... (e-mail address removed)

This is not a Word problem. Try clearing the "Check for updates online" box
in "Tools | Options" in Microsoft PictureIt and, possibly, some of the other
Microsoft Works programs.

Thanks for your help, but it MUST be a Word problem as Word is the only
Microsoft program in MS Office that I installed .. not PictureIt or any of
the
other Microsoft Works programs.

Dunno what to tell you. wkdetect.exe automatically checks for updates
for Microsoft Works. It has nothing to do with Microsoft Office or
Microsoft Word.
