wireless signal strength

I am running windows XP on my desktop and laptop. in the
desk top I put in a wireless PCI adapter and the note
book came confugured with wireless. My note book shows an
excellent signal strenght while my desktop either says no
signal but is connected both PC are next to each outher
and about 2ft from my router what can I do to make the
signal strength better on the Desktop

Probably nothing because there's probably nothing wrong with the signal
strength. Some of these monitoring functions aren't very accurate. The main
thing is performance..... try a speed download test. If speed is up to
expectations, you've nothing to worry about.
