I have an IBM T30 laptop with the High Rate Wirless LAN
card. Whenever I upgrade from 2000 to XP the driver for
the wireless card will not load. It says that an error
occurred when loading the driver and the device may not
function properly. I'll reboot and the connection will
never show up in the Network properties. It does show in
device manger but with an exclamation point. the driver
tab says that no drivers are loaded. I did notice that
when it tries to load the card after installing the
drivers it names the device %device name% #2, however
this name is already taken by the wired network card. Is
there anyway to change a Device Name? Is there anything
else that might help?

Have you checked the IBM thinkpad support site for updated drivers for
XP? They should be available.
