Wireless Optical Mouse + Wireless Router

Hi,

For some time now I've been frustrated with the poor
performance of my wireless optical mouse. At first it
seems to be a dying battery, but even after replacing the
batteries it still sucked (it would take extra clicks to
select something, etc). I do have a wireless router
sitting on my desk, too, however, I figured that they
would be smart enough to not have two common wireless
devices operate at the same radio frequency. So I
decided to do a test, and I moved the mouse's receiver
right up close the mouse (which defeats the purpose), and
the mouse seems like a regular non-wireless mouse now. I
also powered off the router and tried out the mouse and
the same time, the mouse works like a charm. This is
rather frustrating though, I don't want to move the
router, and having the stupid mouse receiver right up
close to the mouse defeats the purpose of having the
mobility of a cordless mouse. I couldn't find any Kbase
articles on this, does anybody else know of one? Also,
is there some configuration option I can find somewhere
to change the channel the mouse receiver operates or is
that impossible?

Thanks.

They do not use the same frequencies

mouse = 27 mhz
router = 2.4 ghz or 5.<something ghz> depending on the wireless standard
your router is based on.

That's what I thought. My router is an 802.11 B (~2.4
GHz), however, when I power down the router, the mouse
works great. Very strange.
