I have a friend who has a wireless network problem that I am trying to sort
out for him. He has a Pc running Windows XP home edition (called it PC1),
that is connected to a Netgear wireless router (physically), that use an AOL
broadband connection. On installation of the router a wirelss network was
setup called “wirelessâ€. This all works fine. He has another PC (call it PC2)
in the house running on Windows XP home edition for his grand daughter that
he wants to be able to use the wireless router to browse the Internet. This
has a Belkin wireless adapter attached to it through the USB port. PC2 finds
the network “wirelessâ€, and connects to it no problems. But I cannot get it
to surf the Internet. Can someone help me get PC2 surfing the Internet.

Thanks for any help

Danny

Try posting in the Wireless Networking forum instead of in this XP forum. The
only thing I can think of is to disable any Firewalls until you get the
network up and running. The other computer is not using the wireless network
at all if it is physically connected by cable to the router. So the wireless
network is probably not completely set up yet. And don't forget adding
network security with passwords and renaming the network something better
than "wireless." The MS networking site might help:
