Windows XP Wireless networks

Don,t people think wireless networks are slow?

Half the time i can,t even get a signal and my speed drops. My walls are paper thin and the signal does,nt even get pick up.


it would be better going off your own modem.

Depends on the range and the hardware...

Our WiFi is good - though i will always take cable for the better transfer speeds.

Just built a new computer for someone - connected to the WiFi and was downloading stuff at 225kbps on a 2mb connection with "excellent" strength.

I hope my WiFi at uni is decent!

mines decent, download speeds are the same as my desktop and data transfer to my desktop are around 24Mb, coverage is decent all over the house, but then i do have quite a new router

what router are you using and what adapter to pick it up ?

linksys router.

Just think it,s a poor router.
