wireless network switch

unable to shut off the wireless network button, the light stays on and every
time
I boot up I get yhe mesg. wireless network not connected
 
If you are trying to shut it off and its not connected would that mean its
already off.......???????????????????

Not all of us can read you mind would you care to elaborate??.....like my
system does not have a wireless network button..it got an on/off button ...a
reset button.... 2 dvd buttons a... shirt button ....

Sorry Peter On the front of my laptop I have a button or switch
that has a wireless symbol on it, normally when you push it a blue light
comes on and when you push it again the blue light goes off.
When the blue light is on the laptop is looking for a wireless connection
and a popup will tell if there is a network available, if the blue light is
off
the laptop will not look for a network, hence no popup.
No mater how many times I push the button the blue light will not
go off.

My Gateway MX6124 works like this. I have to hold down the Fn key and
press the F2 key to toggle the wireless on or off. Which also toggles
the wireless blue light on and off too.

I tried that with the AC plugged in, nothing. when I am on Batt.
it brightens the moniter

How in the F is that gonna change the action of a switch that doesn't
seem to be working properly?
 
Hello,

If you read the TS's post, he mentioned that it could be a button. I have
seen the button on HP's laptops that has one mode of press, no on/off
toggle, just press only.

So it is possible that the wireless feature is handled by the software -
which reacts to the button press and sends the signal to light up the
wireless LED to lit up when successful.

You were close, and it got me on the right track.
I reinstalled the One Touch Button program and all is well
