Wireless network connection

Steve

I recently got a new IBM Think pad laptop with an
internal wireless network adapter. The first week or two
it worked fine with my Dlink 614+ wireless router. Then
it started intermittently losing connection or giving me
a real low signal strength. My previous laptop worked
fine with no problems and strong signal strength and
there have been no changes to the router or its position.
I use WEP and a key and they all match up fine. Any
ideas?

We're have the same problem with a Linksys, see:
Re: Win XP Pro and Linksys WMP11 Wireless Connections

We think it may be a security patch update that messed up our systems,
because we both began to experience the problems about the same time after
everything had been working fine for 3 months....

My laptop doesn't have the authentication tab and the
knowledge base articles on Microsoft send you to a pay
support page to get a hotfix, is there anyway around this?
