Wireless Mouse Annoyance

I went online and purchased a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse (2.0A) to be
used with my new Dell notebook running Windows XP.

Well much to my chagrin it arrived with a Wireless Optical Mouse Receiver
that has to be plugged in to a USB port for the mouse to work.

So this means I have to drag around this annoying accessory which has the
footprint/appearance of having a second 'wired' mouse installed. In summary
it defeats my whole purpose for going wireless.

Isn't there a better way?

Most laptop wirelesss mice have a smaller USB receiver. Some are so small
that they are stored in the mouse or clips to the mouse (Microsoft Wireless
laptop Mouse.)

Hello , I agree with Yves Leclerc . I bought a wireless mouse with reciever
that came with the long wire . The only item my salesperson sold me that I
did not like . A few weeks ago I bought a wireless mouse with a USB reciever
.... I remove the reciever when moving the labtop . Or if I do not remove
the reciever it will eventualy get hit and break things ... Plus it snaps to
the underside of mouse . There are 2 styles that I am aware of . One is
smaller . The larger has another feature , cannot remember this feature . I
did not purchase the wireless mouse that had recharging capabilities . (1) AA
works for me .
