Wireless Local and Internet connection but not web browsing

I have many wired and wireless connections through my router going out to the
internet with NO problem at all. For instance, I have a vista wired machine,
an xp wired machine, a few xp wireless connections, and varied gaming
platforms. With a new HP laptop I got running vista, I get the windows
indication that I have both local and internet connection, however, when I go
to brows like to this site I get either "address not valid" or "explorer
cannot open this page." With this same machine, I can perform pings to
anything I should be able to. ALL of my other connections work fine. I have
tried both static and DHCP with no help. Any suggestions would be awesome.
Thanks.

It could be a security software blocks the Internet access. Or this search
result may help.

Vista Internet Access IssuesVista Internet access issues. Can't access
Internet because of security software ... Vista drop the Internet connection
because of incompatible issue ...

Thanks for the try but that doesn't help either. I have also tried firefox,
and that doesn't work either.
