Wireless LAN not connected

I get a message, "wireless LAN not connected" each time I reboot my
PC. (I boot automatically because I have a cable connection.) My
e-mail and web browser connect just fine, and the "wireless LAN not
connected" message icon disappears after a few minutes. During those
few minutes when the message is on my desktop, as I wrote, I can
connect with e-mail and the web, but it takes about 15 seconds longer
than normal to connect. When that message disappears the connection is
then quit ye rapid.

How can I get rid of the message and get my connection back to normal?

Thank you,

What do you mean by this:
(I boot automatically because I have a cable connection.)?
So do you have a wireless or wired connection to your router or cable/DSL
modem?

If you are going wired then disable your wireless NIC, as it may be picking
up the neighbors wireless LAN.

If you do have wireless, go into the properties of the wireless NIC and make
sure your wireless network is
at the top of the list. This will ensure that your wireless NIC will try to
associate with your AP first. You can also remove any other networks found
that you dont recognize.
