wireless connection option

I appear to have lost my ability to use a wireless connection. When I go to
"start" and go to "connect to", "Wireless Netwrok Connection" does not come
up as an option. Don't know what happened because up until a few days ago I
had wireless connection. Help. Thanks, Brian

Here are a few items to check - just for starters.

If you are using a laptop computer, does your computer have an
on/off switch (or button) to activate the wireless modem? And
does it have an illuminated LED, when the wireless connector is
activated?

Does your computer have an integrated wireless card, or are you
using a USB dongle?

Either way, open Control panel - and click on System | Hardware |
Device Manager.

Scroll down to Network Adaptors. Is your wireless card listed?
(If you are using a USB wireless dongle, it might be listed under
a different category).

Are there any problem devices (yellow question mark) or disabled
devices (red X)? If so, you will need to investigate the reason
and/or enable the device.

Back to Control Panel - and click on Network Connections. Is the
wireless connection listed under LAN or High Speed Internet? If
so, what is the status of the device?
