Wireless Home Network

I have two computers directly connected and set as a
network at home via Ethernet cable. One is the host and
connects to the Internet, printer and such, the other
(laptop) is the guest and share all when the host is
connected. Both are running XP home.
Can I replace the cable by two Wi-Fi (and be wireless)
without the need for a router?
Thanks, Robi.

Yes. WiFi adhoc mode (wireless NIC to Wireless NIC) is the same as NIC to
NIC using an ethernet crossover cable.
