Wireless file sharing

I am trying to share files between two xp home pcs using an adhoc wireless network. When I try to access the other pc within my network places it will not allow me access. I can see them, but have no access. I have enabled file sharing essentially on the root of c and also enabled a few folders with no luck and also checked to make sure that the personal firewall was disabled. Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you ping each computer from the other (by name and ip address)?

What personal firewall did you disable?
